Roadmapping Mission

The mission of this roadmapping programme is to define a collective vision of Collaborative Working in Construction (CWIC) and to identify coordinated plans and actions in implementing this vision by bringing key players across Australia.

This roadmapping programme is focusing on the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Facility Management (AEC/FM) sectors, and the concept of CWIC is driven by business demands (end-user needs), cultural changes and technological challenges. The concept of CWIC is being developed to increase the competitiveness of Australian AEC/FM companies and their enabling services (such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Information Technology) in the global marketplace, whilst at the same time supporting sustainable development in the knowledge economy.

The key objectives of the roadmapping for CWIC are:

1. To define a vision of Collaborative Working in Construction for the whole AEC industry through a series of scenarios.
2. Identify business demands, cultural changes and technology support in implementing the CWIC vision.
3. To develop a roadmap for implementing the CWIC vision with prioritised key challenges over a 2, 5 and 10 year periods.
4. To demonstrate an industry-supported CWIC Project as a proof of concept for the use of the roadmap.
